I had a very difficult time with 3 decisions I made. The first was the A.L. West. I could not come to a confident conclusion there between Oakland or L.A. I believe that Oakland could very easily win that division over the Angels, but I went with the fact I believe Weaver is the A.L. Cy Young winner, they have a very strong bullpen, and Their 1-5 in the batting order is unreal. I also think if they do not make it, its because Mike Scioscia is dead set on wrecking Trumbos ability to contribute. If he showed a little more confidence in that kid he would explode. This guy is leaning towards starting Bourjos in N.L. park games and benching Trumbo. I think the Angels will do as well as Scioscia manages.
The second was N.L. Cy Young award winner. I think Kershaw is the 2nd best pitcher in baseball behind Verlander and could win the Cy Young any or every year. However, I came down to 2 pitchers this season I think will be 1 and 2 for N.L. Cy Young and that was Bumgarner and Wainwright. I think Wainwright is set to have a huge year after a full season off Tommy John surgery. At the end of the day I think Bumgarner is poised for the award based on his performances getting better each year and his overall talent.
The third was the 5th N.L. Wildcard spot. I believe that the N.L. Central will have 2 teams in the playoffs one for sure being the Reds and the other being either Pittsburgh or St. Louis. I really struggled with this one. While I love the cardinals pitching staff and good young hitters I have a sneaky suspicion that Pittsburgh will put it all together this year and finally get passed a late season swoon and be the darling of the N.L. playoffs like the Royals will be in the A.L. I think my N.L. MVP choice will help voice what I think of the Pirates this season.

All in all I am very confident in every selection I just wanted to give some who read our predictions a look into my thought process. I am sure I will be called an idiot like I was last year when I wrote an article suggesting the Tigers as the A.L. representative in the world series after they acquired Fielder. Always feels good to be right, but no one is 100% all the time!
