Russell Wilson @ Dallas Cowboys – $9,000 Fanduel – $7,000 DK – The Cowboys have given up the 5th most passing touchdowns to teams on the season (26). The Seahawks defense is banged up and the Cowboys get Zeke Elliott back so the Cowboys shouldn’t have any trouble hanging points on the scoreboard. That being said, Russell Wilson is going to need to put some points on the board to keep up with the Cowboys and since their run game is so brutal, they’ll need to pass the rock a ton in order to keep up with the Cowboys. Both of these teams are fighting for their playoff lives so this game should be meaningful right down to the last-minute.
Drew Stanton vs New York Giants – $6,000 Fanduel – $4,500 DK – The Giants have given up the most passing touchdowns on the season (30) and give up 263 yards through the air per game which is 2nd worst in the league. Let me be clear, I don’t like Drew Stanton as a player, but the matchup sets up well for him to come through given his DFS price. Please do not rely on this man in your fantasy football championship, he is a low-cost DFS option, that’s all.
Jameis Winston @ Carolina Panthers – $7,100 Fanduel – $5,700 DK – The Panthers have given up the 12th fewest fantasy points to the quarterback position on the season, but they have given up at least 17 fantasy points in 5 of their last 6 games. The Panthers are down Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis, which will make it a little easier for the Bucs to move the ball down the field. Davis is a decent cover linebacker, so this helps Cameron Brate, while the absence of Johnson will lessen the pass rush on Winston.
Case Keenum @ Green Bay Packers – $7,900 Fanduel – The Packers have given up 26 passing touchdowns on the season and give up an average of 240 yards through the air. Keenum should absolutely slay this decimated Packers pass defense who is now further deflated because they’re eliminated from the playoff picture.
Jared Goff @ Tennessee Titans – $7,700 Fanduel – $6,100 DK – The Titans have a solid run defense, but their pass defense isn’t exactly a game changer, giving up 242 yards per game through the air and 23 passing touchdowns on the year. Although the Titans give up touchdowns and yardage, they only allow 6.8 yards per attempt, and they have only given up 34 pass plays of 20+ yards which is 3rd best on the year. That being said, Goff should get it done this week, and although they typically don’t give up the big play, I believe they will this week and here is why. LaShaun Sims is a liability in coverage and he figures to match up on Sammy Watkins, the Rams big play threat. Watkins is primed for a big play and a solid stat line.
Eric Ebron @ Cincinnati Bengals – $5,200 Fanduel – $3,700 DK – Even though the Bengals have been banged up in the secondary lately, they have still been pretty good against opposing wide receivers which means the Lions may need to rely on the tight end to move the ball. Ebron has been hot lately and scored a touchdown last week so there’s no reason to think that shouldn’t continue in a soft matchup against Cincinnati.
Cameron Brate @ Carolina Panthers $5,100 Fanduel – $3,300 DK – The Panthers have given up the 13th fewest fantasy points on the season to tight ends up lately, giving up a touchdown to tight ends in 3 of their last 5 games. Jameis Winston loves throwing the ball to tight ends and lately, OJ Howard has been dominating the snap share and target share. However, in spite of Howard’s domination of the snap share, Brate has still been a touchdown vulture. OJ Howard has been officially placed on IR, meaning it’s the Cameron Brate show for week 16. Roll Cameron Brate out there in DFS and look to him if you need to replace Hunter Henry or are growing frustrated with Jimmy Graham after 2 weeks of zero production.
Evan Engram @ Arizona Cardinals – $6,600 Fanduel – $5,600 DK – Engram’s matchup against the Cardinals isn’t the greatest, but the reality is he’s a glorified wide receiver playing the tight end position and is the Giants #2 option in the passing game. Engram is a mismatch on Budda Baker and he shouldn’t have a problem getting it done this week. Did I mention my man Bobby Cables @SpcArmy loves Evan Engram? That’s just another reason to roll him out there.
Greg Olsen vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers – $6,600 Fanduel – $5,200 DK – Simply put, Cam Newton got his dogg back last week. Devin Funchess is a complementary piece in the Panthers passing game while Olsen is the focal point. Justin Evans, who has been a liability in pass coverage this year, will be covering Olsen, so there’s no reason to think he won’t go off. Olsen won’t likely match his week 15 stat line (12 targets, 9 catches, 116 yards, 1 TD), but he could come close.
“Big Rigg” Quarterback and Tight End Stack of the Week
Jameis Winston and Cameron Brate. It just makes sense. No analysis required. With Howard out of the picture, Brate is primed for an every down role. Jameis loves throwing to tight ends in the red zone, so just lock these guys into your lineup and feel good about it.
